4/4/2011  · ‘ Open to discussing ‘ is right. happy to discuss glad to discuss willing to discuss ready to discuss open to discussing interested in discussing I think it’s because we’re actually thinking ‘the concept of ____ing,’ ‘the idea of ___ing,’ ‘the possibility of ___ing,’ etc. Those nouns don’t fit with the first group, where ‘ discuss ‘ is really a verb. I don’t think ‘ open to discuss ‘ works.

Open for discussion is too reminiscent of open for business. It means you’re ready and waiting. What you really want to convey is that you’re receptive.
